Frequently Asked Questions
For most homes, a bi-monthly service plan (six visits per year) provides reliable, year-round protection. We also offer quarterly and monthly plans. Bi-monthly timing aligns with seasonal pest pressure cycles — pests behave differently in spring, summer, fall, and winter, and consistent treatments establish a barrier that adapts to those changes. If you are dealing with an active infestation, we may recommend an initial intensive treatment followed by your regular plan.
Yes. We use products that are EPA-registered for residential use and selected specifically because of their favorable safety profiles for families and pets. After an exterior treatment, we simply ask that you keep children and pets off treated surfaces until they are dry — typically 30 to 60 minutes. For any interior treatments, your technician will give you specific instructions based on what was applied and where.
Our standard pest control plans cover the most common household pests including ants (all species), cockroaches, spiders (including black widows and brown recluse), wasps and hornets, earwigs, silverfish, box elder bugs, centipedes, and occasional invaders. Our Utah plans also address scorpions and bark scorpions. Our Florida plans include fire ants, palmetto bugs, and pantry pests. Specialty services such as termite treatment and rodent exclusion are available and quoted separately.
Green Defense currently serves three regions: Southern Utah (Washington County and surrounding areas), Central Utah (Utah County and the Salt Lake Valley), and Central Florida. If you are unsure whether your address falls within our service area, please contact us — we are continuing to expand and may be able to accommodate your location.
Every property is different, so we provide custom quotes rather than fixed online prices. Call us or fill out our quick request form and a local technician will follow up as soon as possible with a no-obligation quote based on your home size, pest situation, region, and preferred service frequency.
We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payment details are discussed during the quote and sign-up process. For recurring plan customers, we offer convenient automatic billing so you never have to think about it.
Weed control services are currently available in our Utah service areas only. Our Florida services focus on pest control. We are always evaluating ways to expand our service offerings, so check back or ask your technician about future availability.
Our Utah weed control programs target broadleaf weeds (dandelions, clover, bindweed, spurge), grassy weeds (crabgrass, quackgrass), and invasive species that are common to Utah's climate zones. Treatments are calibrated based on your turf type and the specific weed species present. We do not use one-size-fits-all herbicide applications — product selection and rates are matched to the target weeds and your lawn's needs.
Your first visit is the most thorough. The technician will arrive within your scheduled window, introduce themselves, and do a walk-around assessment of the exterior before treating. They will look for active pest activity, entry points, conducive conditions (standing water, wood debris, gaps), and anything else worth noting. After the exterior is treated, they will check in with you about any interior concerns. The visit typically takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on property size. You will receive a detailed service report by email after the visit.
Not necessarily. For exterior-only treatments, many customers simply ask us to proceed without being home. We will treat the perimeter, leave a service report at your door, and email you the full details. If you want an interior inspection or treatment, or if you have specific concerns you would like to walk through with the technician, we recommend being present — but it is not required for standard exterior service.
Call us. Our satisfaction guarantee means that if you see renewed pest activity between your regularly scheduled treatments, we will return and re-treat the affected areas at no additional charge. Just contact our office, describe what you are seeing and where, and we will get you scheduled. We want you to have a pest-free home — not just on service day, but every day.
We understand that some pest situations cannot wait. We make every effort to accommodate urgent requests and offer same-week service for new customers whenever our schedule allows. Contact us directly and let us know the nature of the issue — we will do our best to get a technician to you as quickly as possible.
Yes — it is central to who we are. We select EPA-registered products with favorable environmental profiles: low mammalian toxicity, reduced impact on non-target organisms (including bees and beneficial insects), and responsible breakdown in the environment. We follow integrated pest management (IPM) principles, which means we use chemical treatments as a targeted tool rather than a first resort. Our goal is to protect your home while minimizing our footprint on the surrounding environment.
Yes. Green Defense Pest & Weed Control holds active pest control operator licenses in both Utah and Florida. Every technician is a state-certified applicator who has passed the required licensing exams and carries full liability insurance. You can feel confident that every person who comes to your home is qualified, accountable, and operating within state regulations.
